Some highlights, until I can fill in some more text here:
1) BB30 Bottom bracket - big, stiff as snot
2) Looks amazing - I don't usually care about how these look, frankly, but this is an eye-catcher
3) Crankset is awesome - BB30 crankset, carbon. It's light and stiff. I’m not sure why the Specialized crankset isn’t getting more press. It’s both the lightest and possibly the stiffest (but I think there’s a lot of pseudo-science with this measurement) crankset in production.
4) Carbon bars are a very nice touch
5) Really comfortable - noticeably nicer than my CAAD9 (you'd hope so, given the MSRP of this bike).
6) Slightly longer head tube than 2007 - this is why I bought the bike. It fits me surprisingly well.
All in all, I'm a bit embarrassed to own the bike, since it's so much better than my riding ability, but I love it.
I hope I don't trash it in a race.
I like the oversized head tube.
See my review of Q-rings for more on
these...
I love Specialized's adjustable
stems too - simply rotate a spacer and you can get nearly
every reasonable stem angle. I'm at 8 degrees now, thanks
to the longer head tube. I used to run a 90mm 17 degree
stem...
The full effect of this bike
really is pretty cool - looks like I forgot to take off a
safety sticker on the front left fork blade though.
